Who’s Puzzling?

I’m Rosa, the host of Puzzle Talk and a puzzle journalist at your service.

I recently launched my own puzzle events business Palasina Studio, and I’m writing a non-fiction book about puzzle culture. My aim is to understand the ins and outs of puzzle culture, and my mission is to help puzzlers enhance their hobby by offering interesting insights for inspiration.

I discovered jigsaw puzzles again during the pandemic and got to experience the positive effects of puzzling first-hand. Before I noticed, the hobby had taken over my life: I joined the puzzlegram, began hosting The Puzzle Podcast, studied puzzle industry and puzzlers in my master's thesis, and started a local puzzle club. Speed puzzling became the sport I follow and practice actively (I’m currently Finland’s 3rd fastest speed puzzler) and my puzzle collection just keeps growing.

What Guides Us?

Puzzle Talk is all about constant learning and sharing knowledge. Curiosity is the fuel that gets us going. In addition our core values are joy, togetherness and kindness:

Joy. Puzzle Talk roots for joy. It’s important to cherish enthusiasm and add a little playfulness to every day.

Togetherness. If you have the enthusiasm, why not share it! Community is key, we believe in dialogue and discussion, and operate inclusively.

Kindness. We respect others and speak kindly. We are also gentle towards ourselves - there’s enough pressure from other aspects of life – puzzling shouldn't be too serious!

In addition, we want to do our part in working for a better and sustainable future and will study the puzzle industry from this perspective aiming to raise awareness and inspire.
